Juried Online Photography Exhibition
ā
Decagon Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit to our upcoming online exhibition, Patterns in the Wild—a visual exploration of the rhythm and repetition that surrounds us in both natural and urban environments.
ā
Whether found in the fractals of a fern, the geometry of city grids, the textures of rust and decay, or the symmetry in animal markings—patterns speak a universal language. They reveal order in chaos, beauty in randomness, and design where we least expect it.
ā
We welcome work in all photographic styles and techniques, from traditional landscapes to abstract interpretations, macro to aerial, documentary to experimental. Show us how you see pattern in the wild.

Juror: Wendi Schneider
Wendi Schneider is a visual artist renowned for her ethereal photographs that fuse the fragile beauty of the natural world with the luminosity of precious metals. Drawing upon a rich background in painting and art history and inspired by her collection of early 20th-century photographs, Schneider crafts images that evoke a sense of transcendence and ephemeral grace. Using photography as a reference for her paintings in the 1980s, she began layering oils onto her prints, a technique that evolved into the signature digital layering and meticulous hand-applied metal leafing of her celebrated 'States of Grace' series. Her internationally exhibited work is held in permanent collections, including the Asheville Art Museum, the Auburn University Library Special Collections, the Center for Creative Photography, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Memphis Brooks Museum, among others. Schneider is represented by A Gallery For Fine Photography (New Orleans), Arnika Dawkins Gallery (Atlanta), Catherine Couturier Gallery (Houston), Etherton Gallery (Tucson), PhotoGraphic Gallery (San Miguel de Allende), Rick Wester Fine Art (New York), Vision Gallery (Jerusalem), and Wach Gallery (Cleveland).

A note on AI — Artificial Intelligence:
As more image processing software incorporates AI techniques, we find it necessary to clarify our position on this. If a substantial portion of the image is created using Artificial Intelligence, it will not be considered for the exhibition. On the other hand, if AI is used simply to erase an object in the background or to extend the borders of an image, we would be able to accept it for consideration. The ultimate decision would be made by the exhibition juror as well as the gallery, and the decision to include or exclude an image will be final. We suggest that you should make a judgment as to whether your images appear to be substantial products of AI, and if they do please do not submit them.
We look forward to seeing how you interpret the theme of Patterns in the Wild. Submit your best work and be part of this exciting online exhibition!
