"I first expressed myself through drawing. It consumed me, silently and completely. Subtle and elusive, it lingered within me, surfacing only sporadically, sometimes through the creative impulse of comics, later in the illustration of religious and children’s books, then in acrylic paintings on wood, and more recently, through digital media. Subtle yet ever-evolving, this creative force within me both explores and erupts. Writing is its companion; cinema and photography, its alluring muses."
"Since 1996, the self-employed worker, father, photographer, and entrepreneur within me have moved together in a complex dance, discovering new visual pathways. The pursuit of storytelling, whether rooted in the tangible or born from the boundless imagination, has become an intrinsic part of my days and nights, driving me to continually reinvent myself."
"In the wake of significant losses, irreversible upheavals, and a shift in intuitive direction, I instinctively returned to this foundational mode of expression that has sustained me since childhood."
"This time, the need to leave a mark came unbidden, without thought, like a necessity. The theme of this series is NATIVE: a meditation on becoming, on shaping, forming, and rebuilding oneself anew." -JD
