Call for Entry: ABSTRACTIONS

ā€‹

We invite photographers worldwide to submit their most compelling and imaginative abstract photography for our upcoming online exhibition: Abstractions. This exhibition seeks to explore the infinite possibilities of abstraction, where form, color, texture, and light transform into visual poetry.

ā€‹

From minimalist compositions to vibrant, chaotic expressions, we encourage entries that challenge perception and push the boundaries of photographic artistry. Show us your unique vision—whether through experimental techniques, intentional distortions, or capturing the unseen details of the everyday.

ā€‹

In addition to being featured in our online exhibition, selected artists will receive digital badges, an opportunity to be included in a professionally produced exhibition catalog available on Blurb, and a short promotional video on our YouTube channel.

The First Place winner will receive a $300 cash prize and a solo exhibition in the gallery's Featured section.

The exhibition will be juried by Janice Mehlman.

ā€‹

This is your chance to share your unique vision and contribute to a striking exploration of light and shadow. Submit your work today and let your artistry shine!

“Throughout my career as a professional photographer, I have consistently made images, which deal with light and shadow, abstraction, mystery and illusion. Using a variety of camera angles to affect perception and plane, I create complex, abstract spatial arrangements, from architecture, objects, fabric and paper.” - JM

A note on AI — Artificial Intelligence:

As more image processing software incorporates AI techniques, we find it necessary to clarify our position on this. If a substantial portion of the image is created using Artificial Intelligence, it will not be considered for the exhibition. On the other hand, if AI is used simply to erase an object in the background or to extend the borders of an image, we would be able to accept it for consideration. The ultimate decision would be made by the exhibition juror as well as the gallery, and the decision to include or exclude an image will be final. We suggest that you should make a judgment as to whether your images appear to be substantial products of AI, and if they do please do not submit them.

Selection Process:

Our juror Janice Mehlman will review submissions and select works that best embody the spirit of the exhibition. Chosen photographs will be displayed in our online gallery, offering a platform for the viewer's imagination and interpretation.

How to Submit:

Please submit your entries on the form below including your name, contact information, and entry fee. Make sure your name is included in the file. eg: Sarah-Smith_cracked.jpg
